The New GLK-Class

Made for
mountains.

A maze of houses, a labyrinth of streets and heavy traffic. The GLK manages to keep a cool head here on a daily basis. In the French Alps, however, the character type shows that it has much more to offer than just that. Idyllic mountain villages, tight mountain passes and snow-covered peaks stretching far into the azure blue sky are a real contrast to the otherwise hectic daily grind.
The intricate roads through the French Alps offer the perfect backdrop for the presentation of the new GLK. Here, the compact SUV can really demonstrate its qualities both on and off-road.

Consumption, combined: 8.6-5.5 l/100 km; CO2 emissions, combined: 199-143 g/km*

The first impression is what counts.

True character types polarise. The GLK truly impresses with its striking front section. The new headlamps and daytime running lamps with their very own dynamism also make a good first impression. Even the steep rear end with its short overhang and new LED tail lights create amazement from the offset. A further optical highlight comes in the form of the pronounced wheel arches which skilfully take up the pithy design idiom of both the front and the rear. This puts the GLK on a clearly raised pedestal in comparison to other SUVs. Its strong and expressive lines underline its very individual character. Even at a standstill, it is clear that the GLK wants to show what it is made of.

Quality and character.

On getting into the GLK, the first thing you will notice is that the selector lever of the 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission has been moved from the centre console to the steering wheel. The resulting stowage compartment is a particularly practical additional solution. All 4MATIC models are equipped with 7G-TRONIC as standard. The newly designed interior with the new instrument cluster, three-spoke multifunction steering wheel and round air vents has charm and sets new standards in terms of quality and character. But that's not all: connectivity also takes pride of place in the GLK thanks to COMAND Online and its integrated web browser. With the leather appointments and wooden or, depending on the equipment line, brushed aluminium trim elements, the GLK is much more stylish than your average desk.
And another thing's for sure: the GLK is definitely more fun as Mercedes-Benz has managed to juggle business, lifestyle and sporty requirements, particularly in off-road terrain.

Trailblazer.

The GLK masters the tight Alpine curves of Savoie with immense feeling whilst at the same time being great fun. On the demanding climbs and winding descents, the GLK certainly feels at home. A deluge of rain and heavy hail briefly turns the 2000-metre-high tight downhill stretches into a white piste.
This doesn't appear to bother the GLK though, as it calmly pushes its way through the storm. It's almost as if it can't wait to reach the up-coming off-road stage.

In its element.

Off the beaten track, the GLK really shows what it's made of. 30 mm of additional ground clearance demonstrate their true potential. Deep mud puddles are no problem and the same goes for twisted tracks or massive flagstones. Even with the right-hand rear wheel hovering half a metre above the ground and the left-hand front wheel having almost no contact with the ground, the GLK gives its driver a clear signal: it can handle more. You don't have to worry for a single second before the compact SUV is again firmly gripping the ground. The GLK even masters steep rock formations with effortless elegance. Extremely useful is the Downhill Speed Regulation (DSR), which offers a level of safety which is second to none with the help of the brakes and the intervention of the differential.

Good genes.

The GLK, with its excellent off-road capabilities, does the other Mercedes-Benz off-roaders proud. At the very latest, during a detour in difficult terrain, the GLK makes it clear that it quite rightly bears the letter G of its great granddad, the legendary G-Class. However, the GLK doesn't just rest on these laurels. With a self-evident level of safety, the GLK not only carries its occupants through the urban jungle but it also patiently lays down kilometre after kilometre on main roads and motorways. The GLK is also just as agile over hill and dale where others would simply give up. Here, the GLK feels on top of the world and you can really see this in its performance.

The new Mercedes-Benz GL

The first encounter.

It is early one morning as the sun eases its way through the clouds over the Italian Alps, the temperature still only just above freezing. By contrast, mountain biking legend Hans Rey has warm words for the new Mercedes-Benz GL when he encounters it for the first time.
"There are really great, innovative details in the GL like the rear seats which fold flat at the touch of a button and seats and cup holders with in-built cooling and heating that any outdoor enthusiast would appreciate."
The multiple Trials world champion and member of the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame can hardly wait to start the spacious seven-seater vehicle and enjoy what looks like a promising day. Time to load the bike and get moving!
As soon as they get underway, the GL is able to demonstrate its credentials as a true off-roader. Thanks to 4MATIC all-wheel drive as standard with Start-off Assist and Downhill Speed Regulation (DSR), together with the optional ON&OFFROAD package, this S-Class of SUVs effortlessly handles steep gradients on rough terrain. Like Hans "No Way" Rey, this Mercedes-Benz seems to have virtually no limits.

Outstanding in all conditions.

Despite the demanding route, the GL with its comfortable AIRMATIC ADS air suspension featuring the adaptive damping system makes it easy for Hans Rey to relax during the drive. Born in the Black Forest in 1966, this cosmopolitan sportsman now holds Swiss and US citizenship and is happy to talk about the early stages of his unique career: "For me, it all started at the bike trial in Germany. When I went to America in 1987, mountain biking was just getting established as a sport. I could never have imagined then that I would spend the next 25 years as a professional biker and travel to 70 countries." Hans Rey regularly undertakes bike tours with athlete friends and celebrities like John McEnroe in remote regions such as Peru, Nepal and Tanzania.
"I love the adventure and learning about other cultures. A bike opens doors, hearts and friendships all over the world because nearly everyone can relate to a bicycle. For me, the bike is the means to an end: fun, sport – and maybe even doing some good along the way."

The New G-Class

The new G-Class is more powerful and better than ever.

Exceptional Evolution.

In 2012 the G-Class is presenting itself once again in a considerably enhanced form, reinforcing its top position amongst off-road vehicles. It was first designed in 1979, originally specifically for tough off-road use, and has experienced an astonishing evolution.
This off-road specialist was first designed for practicality and austerity, and in the course of thirty-three years, Mercedes-Benz has refined it, giving it a high-class interior and the road-holding qualities of a premium saloon made in Stuttgart. Today the G-Class is viewed as the top model of luxury off-road vehicles, and has been used as the generic basis for the other successful Mercedes-Benz SUVs.

Fuel consumption combined: 17.0-11.2 l/100 km;
CO2 emissions combined: 397-295 g/km*

Discreet exterior modifications.

An extensive facelift now means that the off-road classic will continue to be in a class of its own. New LED daytime running lamps and new exterior mirrors have only made a subtle alteration to the exterior looks of this luxury off-roader.
The timeless design, almost unchanged since 1979, has made the G-Class a design icon.

Finishing touches to the interior.

The instrument panel and the centre console have been completely revamped, with newly designed controls and generous, exclusive trim elements. This means a new look
for the premium interior fittings. Between the two circular instruments there is now a colour display. Another large colour screen is located in the middle, within easy view from the driver’s seat, and forms part of the standard COMAND Online system with internet access.
Optional safety features include DISTRONIC PLUS, Blind Spot Assist and the PARKTRONIC parking assistance system with reversing camera.

Style-defining details.

In order to preserve the character of the G-Class, some style-defining elements were retained in the interior. For example, the cockpit still has the handle on the front-passenger side and the familiar high-sheen silver switch for the three differential locks placed in the driver’s field of vision, and the newly designed selector lever in the lower central console.
In addition to the high-end interior fittings which come as standard, there are many further individual options available from the exclusive designo programme.

The New Mercedes CLS

Aesthetic Coupé with innovative spatial concept.
Exceptional, confident, masculine and attractive – the design of the CLS Shooting Brake emanates passion and confidence. It is thus an inimitable reflection of the excitingly distinguished lifestyle of those highly discerning customers that have already admitted to their fascination by the four-door CLS Coupé and its internationally acclaimed design.
The CLS Shooting Brake makes no compromises in continuing the pursuit of design and innovation and proves beyond doubt that the Mercedes-Benz claim to leadership is rightly deserved. The unique Shooting Brake merges outstanding design with agility, extended spaciousness and great variability: a CLS of new proportions.

Sensationally different.

The proportions of the CLS Shooting Brake are surprising, though undeniably Coupé, and make the vehicle look as if ready to pounce: the long bonnet, the narrow window line with
frameless side windows, the roof line flowing back dynamically. It takes a second glance to realise that the Shooting Brake features four doors and a large tailgate.

Elegant materials and meticulous craftsmanship.

From the cockpit to the luggage compartment, the interior is distinguished through the highest-quality details, reminiscent of an artisan's opus. Equally distinguishing is the diversity of options for individualisation. The optional designo wooden luggage compartment floor conveys the elegance of a yacht's wooden deck combined with an undercurrent of fascination for technology and precision. Select hand-crafted American Cherry veneers and smoked oak inlays, cut into three-millimetre strips by high-precision lasers, refine the design of the luggage compartment floor. The brushed aluminium strips not only protect the wood's surface but also prevent any luggage from sliding around. Thanks to the electrically opening EASY-PACK tailgate, the 590-litre luggage compartment behind
the rear seats is easy to load. The rear seat backrests, foldable individually or as a whole from the luggage compartment using EASY-PACK Quickfold, provide for high variability and increase the available space up to a volume of 1550 litres.

A vehicle concept of new proportions.

The rear compartment of the CLS Shooting Brake provides space for three passengers and even greater headroom than the CLS Coupé. The outer seats look to be individual seats, with further emphasis available through the optional two-tone leather appointments. Entirely new is the porcelain-colour interior that conveys an air of class previously only ever available in the S-Class. A variety of trim elements are available that either harmoniously match the colour or provide a contrast, such as satin-finish light-brown poplar or the AMG version in carbon/piano black. The innovative use of materials – including the interplay between satin-finish and polished metal surfaces – is yet another aspect which gives the CLS Shooting Brake the status of a design icon.

Innovative technology.

The technology of the CLS Shooting Brake is no less innovative than its design. The optional dynamic full-LED high-performance headlamps not only emphasise the unmistakable appearance of the CLS but fascinate through the daylight-like tone. 95 percent of CLS Coupé customers have already opted for the unique lighting system, which is not yet available in any other vehicle anywhere in the world. Following continuous development, for the first time ever, it now offers CLS customers a combination of LED technology and the Intelligent Light System with Adaptive Highbeam Assist, thereby providing an entirely new quality of illumination at night. In addition, more than a dozen driving assistance systems contribute to the prevention of accidents as well as a reduction in accident severity.
The Driving Assistance package Plus, for instance, is available in combination with DISTRONIC PLUS and PRE-SAFE® Brake. Further features such as ATTENTION ASSIST or Active Parking Assist make driving the Shooting Brake both safe and comfortable.

Sporty driving pleasure with a touch of class.

Air suspension and electromechanical direct steering guarantee comfort and sportiness. Powerful and efficient drive systems merge driving pleasure and agility with environmental responsibility. All petrol and diesel engines come with ECO start/stop, 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission and air-sprung level-controlled rear axle as standard.
The electronically controlled AIRMATIC damper system is available in conjunction with the V8-cylinder engines or as an optional extra elsewhere. Furthermore, two variants with all-wheel drive are available. The CLS Shooting Brake is the alternative for those who wish to distinguish themselves from the mainstream and who wish to travel in style without surrendering either sportiness or luggage capacity.

The New CL-Anniversary edition

Anniversary edition of the luxury coupé.

The features of the CL "Grand Edition" include exclusive designo paintwork, high-quality designo leather appointments and sportily elegant 20-inch wheels. AMG bodystyling elements add a distinctive touch of sportiness, while a special badge indicates the exclusive nature of this anniversary edition of the luxury coupé.

CO2 emissions (combined): 322-224 g/km*

Stunning design and
top-flight technology.
The launch of the sensational 300 S in 1952 established the lineage of today's CL. The large S-Class Coupés from Stuttgart have been considered the epitome of automotive refinement ever since. These two-door luxury-class coupés combine the comfort of a prestige luxury saloon with the dynamics of a sports car in the form of an exceptionally elegant tourer. They offer stunning design, exclusive appointments and top-flight technology.
For its new "Grand Edition" special edition model, Mercedes-Benz has further honed the sophisticated and unmistakable style of this design icon, adding further to its cachet and maintaining the brand's leadership status in the luxury car segment.
